ACCU SHARP STURDY MOUNT SHARPENER

The AccuSharp SturdyMount Knife Sharpener mounts easily to cutting boards, kitchen counters filet boards, workbenches etc.etc.
STURDY MOUNT

SturdyMount KNIFE SHARPENER PLEASE NOTE: AccuSharp® SturdyMount1" is not designed for sharpening scissors.

Mount the sharpener as shown in the illustration above to any convenient surface by simply using the pattern below to mark the area for drilling the mounting holes. Using the enclosed 1/8" drill bit, drill two mounting holes into the mounting surface. These holes should be drilled
not less than 3/4" deep.

Mount the sharpener by using the two stainless steel screws provided. Do not overtighten the screws. Tighten them only until you cannot move the sharpener with finger pressure. The sharpener is now ready for use. DO NOT USE THE SHARPENER UNLESS IT IS MOUNTED AS SHOWN AND DESCRIBED ABOVE .

To sharpen your knife, lay the cutting edge of the knife blade (at the point nearest the handle) into the "v" notch of ttte sharpener. Using light pressure, draw the knife blade completely through the sharpener. USE ONLY ONE HAND FOR THIS OPERATION. DO NOT USE YOUR SECOND HAND IN ANY WAY TO SUPPORT THE KNIFE OR TO EXERT ADDITIONAL PRESSURE ON THE KNIFE. TO DO THIS MIGHT CAUSE INJURY. KEEP YOUR SECOND HAND COMPLETELY CLEAR WHILE SHARPENING.

Several passes through the sharpener may be necessary before the knife becomes sharp. Check the knife for sharpness after each 3 or 4 passes until the desired sharpness is achieved.

THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE KNIFE BLADE AFTER SHARPENING TO REMOVE ANY METAL SHAVINGS THAT MAY CLING TO THE BLADE.

A unique feature of AccuSharp® SturdyMountâ„¢ is the double reversibility of the carbide sharpening tips giving it up to four times the life expectancy of similar products. (In normal household use, the sharpening tips should have a total life expectancy of several years.)
When you begin to notice that the sharpening effectiveness is not as good as it was when new, it is time to reverse the blades. To reverse the blades, remove the mounting screws and then the center screw. Then remove the hold down cap. This exposes the sharpening tips.

Carefully remove each sharpening tip. Lay the right tip on your right side with the reference dot on the tip facing up. Lay the left tip to your left with the reference dot facing up. NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE BODY OF THE SHARPENER USING WARM SOAPY WATER.

Reassemble the sharpener by placing the sharpening tip on your right into the left slot and the tip on your left into the right slot keeping the reference dots on the blades
facing the front of the sharpener. Do not turn the blades over, this comes in the third use.

Re-install the blade hold down cap with the short screw.
